This is a kinetic novel read-through of “Allusions: A Vampire Story.” I like to think of Allusions as a philosophical story wearing in the guise of a children’s story. If you plan to watch this video/read this visual novel, I’d suggest looking at the implied meaning of the events, characters and especially the wordplay that I employed in this piece. In the end, I did not reveal anything substantial about my true intent behind this story – even in the included author’s notes. This is a short tale that was intentionally written to come within more or less 1000 words. The inspiration for this piece comes from real-life interviews with my mother. Thus, although the characters within this short story may be fictional, the events depicted herein should be able to reflect how life went on back in the 50s or 70s in my country/area (Iloilo City, Philippines).
I would personally place the story to be well within the "slice-of-life" genre.
The pictures used for this piece were all taken with my cellphone camera and subsequently post-processed in Adobe Photoshop. While I do have the skills required to create competent, original pieces of art, I felt that there was no way that my amateurish art skills could ever come close to the genuine atmosphere that these pics could evoke. The music tracks used come from various web sources who are all appropriately credited within the game.

Doing another "Let's Read" for a lesser-known work of mine called Crimson: A Story of Alienation. This was intended to be a part of the #Baka-Trio Alienation Story Anthology project with stories from different members of #Baka-Trio. Unfortunately, the plan fell apart because we had no actual team leader and motivation was low even among the participants. I decided to turn my own story into a stand-alone VN shortly afterwards.
I'm trying out a new encoding technique with this video. If it works out well enough, I'll use it for future video uploads:
